something different!

Its got some pretty catchy moments, I especially like the little riff that's introduced at 0:30. The beat and certain other aspects maybe could have been a little more forceful, but then again, the conservative feel seems to fit well in its own way. I hope that makes sense. And I'm not trying to say that the song lacks energy, its got plenty of that. Had me dancing in my chair a little. :)

There is some bullshit lurking in the top 5 this week... I'm glad something like this was able to made it on the list! Nice work broski!

fishfood2021 responds:

Definitely some strange top 5 choices this week... But thanks for the feedback. I'm still working on improving this song with a multi band compressor and tweaking the EQ to get a better sound. Most likely I won't be uploading that version on Newgrounds so make sure you keep up with the Digital Slave Facebook page to keep up to date with some epic music!

Thanks again for reviewing :)

cool beanzz

This song makes me want to be a robot. Strangely catchy and definitely has a unique enough sound to make it stand out among other stuff in the portal.

I love the build between 1:26 and 1:55. Even Michael Cera would feel like a badass after listening to that.

Not to be a creep, but I see that you live in Anacortes. I was just there a few weeks ago on a little 'birthplace reunion' trip. I was born in Seattle and thought it would be cool to explore Washington.

Good luck in the contest man!

Knoxius responds:

Thanks for the review, man. I'm also quite fond of that section, primarily cause I LOVE that synth. Heard it in quite a few dubstep songs, and figured I might try using it.

hope you liked anacortes, this really is a great place!

Once again, your music writing ability astonishes me. I've noticed you are particularly good at the piano, always something beautiful to be heard in your solo pieces. You are truly gifted, something very rare in the NG audio portal! Seriously, I would expect this being performed live or scoring a film.

BlazingDragon responds:

Piano is a huge part of my life. My actual playing skills are mediocre at best, but the feeling I get when I play is overwhelming. There have been times (rarely) when I've sat down to improvise at 2:00 AM and got so swept up that I started crying. It might sound strange, but the feeling is indescribable.

Anyway, thanks for the review! I was a little worried people wouldn't like it!

Amazing

I haven't checked your page out in a while, what a nice surprise it was. I see you've upgraded to a different library, or at least it sounds like you did... Very high quality stuff. East West? What are you using now? The instruments kind of remind me of Silk.

This piece is written extremely well. It could almost be described as... beautiful. ;)

You're incredible, man. I wish people would pay as much attention to you as they do some other slightly undeserving artists... Not to be bitter or anything! Keep up the great work!

BlazingDragon responds:

This one was made with East West Goliath and Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Plus. Thankfully, I got a killer discount!

Man, you made my night with this review! Thanks for the uplifting review.

My short lived popularity has mostly died out, and it does seem like there is a lot of junk floating around in the top 30 much of the time. Still, I am so thankful for all the kind words that people have given in reviews. I'm just happy to be making music, and I'll keep making more. :)

yessss

I LOVE this. Thank you for putting effort into making it sound like its being played by an actual orchestra. There are way too many songs on here that reek of MIDI.

The only negative comment I can think of is already addressed in the author comments. It sounds a bit monotone and seems to slightly drag on after a while, but its not a big deal.

Keep it up! :)

descara responds:

Thanks! Comments like this make it well worth the effort. :)

so awesome...

So much epicness is just spewing out of this song like goopy glop from an inflated balloon being squeezed with numerous tiny holes in it. The goopy glop serves as a metaphor symbolizing the epicness. I probably could have used a better word than "numerous".

I only have one complaint. Its not long enough. But I understand that it was made for a cartoon and had some purpose behind it other than just being a big bad awesome song. Even the bobble heads on my desk are head banging. But really they're just doing that because my desk is very large and slightly unstable. The whole thing shakes around just from me typing on the keyboard. That's a problem for another day I suppose.

Keep up the good work!

Burn7 responds:

How about "Multiple" or "Copious"?

I'm an English/Lit nerd sometimes.

Hah, yeah I know it's not very long. But at least you know why it's not any longer.

Glad I could rock the fuck out of your bobbleheads. Anyway, I'm going to stare at the graphic cleavage of this ad on the left of the page for a few more minutes, then click the "Respond!" button over there to my left.

... Ah, that's nice.

love this song

I couldn't think of where the tune was from at first, then I realized that the song is called chocobos. lol. I love this song, just one more nice addition to Newgrounds' remix collection I suppose. Keep up the great work mister audio artist! :)

EpicRPGRemixes responds:

Thanks a ton!

niceeeeee

I saw a few reviews you've left on my stuff so I thought I'd drop in and leave a few wewrds. I mean words. Catastrophic typo... no big deal. There'a TV show about making deals.

So this song is simple at first glance, or the equivalent term dealing with audio rather than visuals, but after listening to the whole thing it is clearly evident that plenty of thought and effort was put into making the whole thing flow and not get too repetitive, even for how short it is. In fact, I don't think I realized that the song looped until about the third time. That's how you know its got a good flow :)

Overall, a great track that I can definitely see being used in a movie or a game. Lots of style and feeling added into the simple beat with all the little effects and slight drum variation. I'd say you've achieved what you were going for here, sir! Keep it up! :)

YakovlevArt responds:

Hey, you didn't have to review one of my tracks because i reviewed yours. It was a pleasure listening and reviewing your tracks =]

(1st part of your review was irrelevant, lol)
Your right this loop is pretty simple, some may argue it's even empty. It was going against what i thought makes a good track to keep it so simple and empty. But you know in the end i fund what makes it sound so good, and really tricks to not make it sound so empty.
I'm glad you think it looped so well, i was hoping it would, but as stated in an earlier review, it ends on a strange point, making the loop awkward =/
Thanks for the compliments on the drums and variety, i tried to keep it new but not repetitive, as you said.

Thanks for the review.

So this is industrial

I've always wondered what exactly industrial sounds like. Pretty unique! So in the middle of writing this review I saw that you mentioned this might not be industrial. Oh well.

Its got a good overall sound and could probably serve as a memorable track in a video game. That's what I see in it at least, I can't really imagine myself listening to this for the hell of it, ya know? And for this reason I propose that a more loop friendly version could be useful! Its got some catchy melodies in there with a good mix of pleasantness (to an extent, given the atmosphere) and uneasiness. I hope you understand what I mean by that haha.

In conclusion! It was a worthwhile listen and I enjoyed the originality. Keep it up! :)

Kirbyfemur responds:

Well unigueness is what i strive for, so i'm glad you liked it :3

I might try to make it loop better somehow, but that may be in the future sometime. Thanks!

LOVE

Yeahhh... pretty much everything I said about your other song applies here. Wow, the two violins compliment each other so well. Perfect harmony! Like I said before, this would be an excellent choice for a game or perhaps even a movie. As soon as the song started I was instantly reminded of the older Zelda games. Like one of those tunes that play when you go into a small shop. You certainly have a knack for writing music. I've listened to a lot of your stuff in the last hour :) There's some sort of professional quality found in most of your tracks, and I believe it comes primarily from your writing ability. What else do you do in life that's music related? I could be wrong, but I bet you're not just another random Newgrounder submitting music!

Again, keep up the good work!

Epitaph64 responds:

Thanks for the kind sentiment. I'm not sure exactly what is my inspiration, so to speak, for these tracks. I took piano lessons between 9 and 13, but I never wanted to play the songs as they were written, and always made adjustments. This is probably because the songs in those books were dumbed down to be easier to play, so I would jazz them up a bit to be more exciting to play. Now, I'm taking computer science (of all things) in college. My blog about mainly programming stuff is here: http://validopinion.wordpress.com/

I've been browsing NG since 2001, finally got around to creating an account in 2005! After that, I pooped.
